OPENING DATE: 7/12/2019
CLOSING DATE: 7/31/2019
STARTING DATE: 8/26/2019

COMPENSATION: $15.00 an hour based on directly related work experience.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: This is a part-time, non-benefited position with approximately 15 hours/week through the academic year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Responsible for English/Writing tutoring for all BSC courses.
  2. Responsible for helping students develop appropriate college study skills.
DUTIES:
  1. Provides direct guidance to students regarding appropriate college study skills.
  2. Provides assistance on all aspects of the writing process: brainstorming topics, finding reliable sources of information, properly formatting papers and citations according to the style requested for the assignments (MLA, APA).
  3. Provides assistance with preparing outlines for speeches and power points for classroom presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in related area.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good computer software skills - Microsoft Office, email and excellent keyboarding skills.
Preferred:
  • Experience in a comparable position.
  • Knowledge of MLA and APA documentation styles.
