Summary: Do you enjoy working on equipment? Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge? As a Field Mechanic you will be responsible for inspecting, analysing, diagnosing malfunctions, dismantling, reassembling, repairing, rebuilding and maintaining construction equipment - including but not limited to Asphalt Pavers, Loaders, Dozers, Rollers, Skid Steers, Trucks and Trailers

Responsibilities:
Support the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe manner according to all Federal, State, and Local regulations
Fuel and perform lubrication, oil, and fluid services on mobile equipment and vehicles from a field service truck and/or in a shop environment
Safely and efficiently repair heavy equipment of various sizes and weights
Must be able to complete work orders accurately and timely
Repair malfunctioning equipment, replace parts as necessary, order parts and maintain appropriate records
Clean equipment and perform equipment inspections for preventative maintenance
Must be able to weld broken parts and structural members
Maintain daily logs and required paperwork

Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days and clean driving history
1-2 years of experience working as a mechanic, lube technician, or similar mechanical role preferred
Knowledge of and experience with Heavy Equipment maintenance preferred
MSHA certification preferred, but not required
Must maintain and provide basic tooling required for position; specialty tooling provided by the Company

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required
Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Standing/working on feet for long periods (8 hours or more), and walking across uneven terrain
Frequently exposed to loud noise produced by machinery and equipment
Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes, chemicals, or airborne particles
