Summary: Operates a commercial vehicle to transport materials to and from specified destinations.

Responsibilities:

Support the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections on truck to assure a safe vehicle
Ensure safe operation of vehicle; document and report required maintenance and/or repair to maintenance team
Follow procedures for safe operation of vehicle, including securing cargo before, during, and after transit, and positioning blocks as required
Maintain a clean vehicle, including vehicle exterior and interior of operator cab
Safely operate assigned vehicle(s); may be required to operate multiple types of vehicles
Assist in loading and unloading of materials in truck bed
Prepare bill of lading and/or similar documentation for loads transported
Maintain accurate documentation related to job assignments as required by the Company
Maintain regular contact with supervisor to receive pick-up and delivery instructions
Maintain driver logs according to state and federal regulations
Perform other projects and duties related to role as assigned

Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience:

Minimum 1 year of commercial driving preferred
Class A CDL with endorsements and valid medical card required; candidates may be considered based on ability to obtain licensing
Ability to maintain a clean driving record required
Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers and other team members
Ability to read and write, and understand basic documents
Prior experience in construction or similar industry a plus

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
Required to work from a seated position driving a commercial vehicle for long periods
Regularly required to use hands to handle and manipulate objects
Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Regularly required to stand and walk across uneven terrain
Frequent exposure to loud noise
Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
Occasional travel with overnight stays away from home may be required
