Position Description:
Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor in the area of robotics, mechatronics, and automation. Successful applicants must have a B.S. and an earned Ph.D. in robotics, mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline, and a record of accomplishment that demonstrates outstanding abilities or potential in the following skills: oral and written communication, teaching, research and grantsmanship, publication of scholarly activities, academic and professional advising, and work-place cooperation and collegiality. Duties include developing an externally funded research program, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, curriculum development, student advising, and service to the university and profession.
Preference will be given to candidates with a research emphasis and teaching interests in the areas of robotics, mechatronics, automation, and instrumentation. Successful candidates will have demonstrated the ability to develop and conduct independent research, develop new courses, teach classes at undergraduate and graduate levels, mentor capstone design projects, and supervise graduate students in the areas of robotics and mechatronics.

Minimum Qualifications:
• B.S. and earned Ph.D. in robotics, mechanical engineering or closely related discipline.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Ability to publish scholarly activities in peer-reviewed journals.
• Ability to develop an externally funded research program.
• Workplace cooperation skills.
• Ability to participate in academic and professional advising.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Research emphasis and teaching interests in the areas of robotics and mechatronics.
• Previous industrial experience in robotics and mechatronics.
• Strong record of scholarly achievement to include demonstrated ability to develop and conduct independent research related to robotics and mechatronics.
• Strong evidence of teaching excellence and course development.
• Licensed as Professional engineer.
