About The Opportunity

Position Summary Designs, plans, and implements human resources programs for a plant. Administers corporate policies relating to compensation, benefits, visa/green card processing, employee relations, training, and health and safety programs. If applicable may be responsible for negotiating collective bargaining agreements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish and/or implement human talent strategies, programs and policies to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost and profitability
  • Partner with business leaders to assure successful deployment of talent acquisition/management, employee engagement, leadership development, communications, compensation, and benefits initiatives
  • Provide guidance to site leaders and/or direct reports that fosters a high performance workforce and assures compliance with local, state and federal law
  • Support employee/labor relations process including conducting investigations, administering disciplinary action and preparing grievance responses as needed
  • Assure compliance with collective bargaining agreement including contract interpretation and disciplinary and grievance process; assist with arbitration case preparation, labor negotiations and other potential legal matters
  • Establish and analyze key HR metrics and provide leadership support to ensure site business objectives are met
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of employee related data and documentation
  • Manage staffing, training, employee relations and team performance to develop and enhance the Human Resources function, working closely with direct reports
  • Maintain industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications
  • Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience required
  • Flexibility to work staggered hours to support a 24/7 continuously operating plant
  • Ability to execute HR programs
  • Solid conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Exceptional ability to promote a positive, professional image through all means of communication
  • High ethical standards and level of integrity in all matters
  • Solid skills in Microsoft programs including Outlook, Excel and Word
