Ideal candidates will have previous lighting or electrical experience. Position is located in St. Cloud and does require some domestic and international travel. This employer offers a competitive compensation package based on experience.Job SummaryThe Product Engineer will be a champion for all major product offerings, while testing and verifying products for performance, quality, reliability and safety. This position will work closely with products, marketing, purchasing, sales, production, and customer service to help provide consistent and accurate product information and education across the company.Product Engineer Key Responsibilities Research market to identify and understand new product and market potential. Identify, rank, and weight product selection criteria and develop consistent selection processes. Validate new products acquired by purchasing for safety, sustainability and reliability. Interact with certifying agencies and oversee qualifications integral to business operations such as UL, DLC, Title 24 and JA8. Evaluate technical reports and lighting data to verify accuracy and supplier reliability, specify to suppliers applicable testing important to quality and reliability. Monitor customers, competitors, and suppliers to evaluate trends, promotional tactics, and product presentation and translate findings into executable programs. Conduct regular industry and competitor research. Work with sales, marketing, customer service, and production to provide key product details and information to aid in the sales, troubleshooting and production of product lines. Constantly strive to know customers' needs with current product offerings and make adjustments as necessary to alleviate those pains.Product Engineer Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field required; advanced degrees or certifications a plus. 5 years of professional experience required, preferably in electrical engineering Overseas experience, both in Asia and Europe, preferred but not required Entrepreneurial spirit and approach to actively seek out change, innovation, service and continuous improvement. Must be flexible and effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Creative and data-oriented problem solver with knowledge of documentation policies, procedures and systems of internal control.
