SUMMARY: To oversee the day-to-day Hotel Housekeeping operations. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hire, schedule, train, coach, and evaluate staff and conduct performance reviews
Direct daily work activities and inspect completed work for conformance to standards
Complete weekly payroll and track work incentives for additional rooms cleaned
Order supplies and guest amenities and complete monthly linen inventory
Inventory, record and secure lost and found items
Perform duties of staff as needed
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and Certification
Required:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
2 years hotel housekeeping supervisory experience in a mid-sized, full-service hotel
Skills
Required:
Accurate and detail-oriented
Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
Strong computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Windows
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills including answering calls from the hotel front desk and guests
Abilities
Required:
Ability to work fast and efficiently and complete multiple tasks under pressure while keeping good communication flow with other supervisors and Room Inspectors
Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to learn appropriate chemical usage and proper equipment usage
Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner
Ability to control labor costs
Ability to speak in a clear, concise and pleasant voice
REQUIRED TRAINING
Treasure Island guest service training
Bloodborne Pathogens training
Effectively Handling Harassment training
Any position-related training as determined by department manager
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to walk and / or stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 8+ hours
Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
Must be able to reach and twist routinely
Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
Must have the ability to independently lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
Must have good eye hand coordination
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed throughout the hotel including exposure to cleaning chemicals and fumes, cigarette fumes and extreme heat and may have to go onto the gaming floor, which includes flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
Occasionally overtime may be required
Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
