JOB SUMMARY

Provides specialized consultation and subject mater expertise in evaluating requests for accommodation in compliance with state and federal laws. Interprets and applies specialized knowledge to effectively manage accommodation requests and ensures consistent application of Sanford's policies and practices. Educates employees and provides coaching for managers and Human Resources colleagues related to the job accommodation process. Assist employees requiring a job search when reasonable accommodation cannot be accomplished within current job assignment. Plays a critical role in protecting Sanford from Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) failures and costly litigation. Serves as the champion to seek reasonable accommodations whenever or wherever they exist with the goal of keeping employees safely at work. Serves as a neutral resource for both the organization and the employee. Simultaneously works for the organization and represents the employee's rights under the ADA. Assist to ensure compliance with the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP)/Affirmative Acton as it relates to persons with disabilities. Advocate for hiring and retaining employees with disabilities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Uses varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate. Uses active listening and probing techniques to surface problems, issues, and interests. Responds to common employee problems and concerns. Facilitates sessions that address complex or highly sensitive issues. Develops successful resolutions to critical or wide-impact problems. Coaches others on appropriate and effective intervention tactics. Advises others on the effectiveness of multiple techniques used to assess and manage the workplace climate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Minimum two years of experience in one or a combination of the following: human resources, vocational rehabilitation, occupational health or leave management
