We are seeking a human resources professional to provide human resources expertise in our growing and thriving institution. This individual will provide strategic HR services to a team of employees who develop and deliver online programs so learners of all ages can reach their educational goals. This role will serve as the primary recruiter and provide general human resource services including employee relations, performance management, training and development, HR data entry, payroll, and managing new employee orientation. An ideal candidate will have prior human resources experience and a proven ability to create HR business practices that drive business results. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can communicate effectively and assist individuals at all levels within the organization. This position will report directly to the HR Director and will often collaborate with other HR business partners within the UW System. RESPONSIBILITIES RecruitmentRecruit, screen, and interview job applicants to fill openings at all levels.Research and recommend innovative recruitment funnels to create pipelines of candidates.Develop and execute recruitment plans; staff search and screen committees, compose interview questions, reference checking, offer preparation, and make hiring recommendations.Provide a positive candidate experience and exemplify fairness throughout the entire process.Serve as subject matter expert for search committees.Review, write, and maintain up-to-date position descriptions.Assist with a variety of hiring needs, including student hires and contract employees. Employee SupportCollaborate with colleagues and provide excellent HR support through an "employee-centered" model.Provide day-to-day HR support and counsel to employees regarding employee relations issues.Contribute to and promote a positive work environment as the organization goes through growth and organizational changes. New Hire Orientation Plan and conduct new employee orientation, ensuring that the onboarding experience and integration into the organization is streamlined, professional and welcomingSupport employees through the onboarding and offboarding process. Performance ManagementTrack and manage employee's career goals to promote career mobility, retention, and succession planning.Assist with the transition from a paper process to an electronic performance management system. Support employees and managers through the transition. HR PoliciesMaintain knowledge and compliance of employment laws and internal policies and guidelines by understanding current legislation and communicating with managers; recommend new procedures to the HR director; conducts training when appropriate. Training and DevelopmentOrganize training opportunities to support employees in developing competencies and skills that are needed for success.Manage the tuition reimbursement program to support employee's continued education. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.3 years of experience working in the Human Resources function with responsibilities such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management or related areas.
