We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to assist with day-to-day operations to join our team of 200+ employees. Under the direction of Human Resources Director, the Senior Human Resources Generalist will align business objectives with employment related needs in a collaborative work environment. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will actively engage with our people and support key organizational initiatives/projects; and contribute to the continuous development of a positive work environment. The candidate will also partner with other departments, and provide assistance and guidance in the areas of: recruitment, employment law compliance, employee relations, on-boarding, policy interpretation, compensation and benefits administration, and career development. Who We Are: Unity is a nonprofit organization serving 13 contiguous counties in northeast Wisconsin and is the oldest hospice in Wisconsin, the third oldest in the nation and has been providing end-of-life care for more than 40 years. A beautiful 34-acre campus in De Pere houses the administration building and the 12-bed Meng Residence with regional offices in Shawano, Marinette and Sturgeon Bay. Partnered with and co-owned by Bellin Health, HSHS St. Vincent's Hospital and HSHS St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center, Unity is the exclusive hospice provider in their hospitals. Partnerships also exist with 3 additional hospitals, multiple skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, as well as caring for patients in their own home. EducationBachelor's degree in human resources, training and development, or business related field.5+ years of progressive experience in human resources. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust be able to work independently in a fast paced environment and handle multiple work assignments simultaneously.Thorough understanding of standard human resources procedures and practices.Demonstrated knowledge of mathematical concepts including computation of rates, ratios, percentages, averages, and reconciliation.Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.Ability to use personal computers and office productivity software.Good interviewing skills.Strong written and oral communication skills.Planning, organizing, and project coordination skills.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.Ability to interact effectively at all levels of employees and volunteers.Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with emotional or confrontational circumstances.Ability to be an effective team member and handle projects responsibly.Strong customer service and results orientation. Key Job DutiesThe Senior Human Resources Generalist carries out four main categories of responsibility: 1) department recruiting and exiting manager; 2) benefits manager; 3) talent management program manager (recruit, retain, exit); and 4) human resources process manager. Specific duties may include, but not limited to: Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position in identifying effective sources. Efficiently and effectively fill open positions in a timely manner.Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges and internet sites.Assist in bench-marking positions with market to ensure competitive compensation.Assist in analyzing employee turnover and retention data.Formulate methods to improve employment policies, processes, and practices and present these methods to leadershipCreate and develop various reports and reporting methods, analyze reports, and collect and provide data for reporting.Lead annual retirement plan audit and participate in annual financial audit, as necessary.Write, revise, edit and proofread policies, procedures, and related documents as needed.Coordinate new hire communication and enrollment for benefit programs including: medical, dental, life, HSA, AD&D, FSA, FMLA and the retirement plan.Participate in creation and rollout wellness program initiatives.Coordinate annual Open Enrollment benefit periods.
