Job Title: Field Service Technician Department: Aftermarket Services Reports to: Aftermarket Services Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt Position Objective: Through the practice of servant leadership; enhance people's lives through installation, retrofit and
troubleshooting activities to deliver quality, best value products and services, on time, to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities: Install new packaging machines, retrofits projects, warranty and service parts Provide internal and external technical support for equipment in the field Provide onsite customer training for equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance Generate daily service reports from work being performed at customer's site Recommend service and rebuild projects to customer that improves equipment performance Assist in assembly and testing of equipment and retrofit projects Assist with programming and code for PC and PLC machine controls Provide remote support technical assistance on a rotation basis Assist with training other team members Recommend and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs Communicate openly, share knowledge, build positive collaboration between departments and team members Support and contribute to department and company metrics Be actively engaged in continuous improvement projects and culture
General Responsibilities:
Adhere to, support and promote the Aagard vision and culture statements Demonstrate professional, respectful interaction with other team members Accurately and professionally represent Aagard to customers and vendors Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of Associates degree plus two years' experience in related field or equivalent combination of education
and experience Aptitude and interest in machine controls Ability to view and understand CAD drawings Ability to read and understand the proper use of measuring instruments Ability to operate small hand tools Knowledge of blueprint reading, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics Ability to follow customer specifications Strong customer service skills, conscientious of meeting and exceeding customer needs Experience or training with PCs, Servos, PLCs preferred Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred Experience with Microsoft products including proficiency with Microsoft Office Experience or training with computers and ability to learn and use Aagard specific software Ability to prioritize tasks Ability to take action and be proactive Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers verbally and in writing Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user friendly language
Ability to walk or stand up to 100 percent of the time Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs Ability to operate or be trained to operate a forklift Valid driver's license required Strong time management and organizational skills Passion for excellence Value and build a culture of measurement Willingness to take occasional after-hours calls Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time. Travel may occasionally be higher to meet customer expectations.
