Job Details

REPORTS TO:

School Age Care Coordinator.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Supervise staff and assist students to provide a safe quality school age care environment. 2. Direct the learning environment, providing safe recreational activities, homework completion, quiet areas, indoor and outdoor play and free choice activities. 3. Maintain a safe and organized learning environment at all times. 4. Demonstrate continual effective problem solving to provide a quality program. 5. Prepare purposeful lesson plans to provide quality programming for all students. 6. Oversee and maintain accurate billing records and child registrations. 7. Assist in the collection of fees. 8. Provide routine maintenance of SAC environment (office, carts, supplies, etc.). 9. Supervise the caregivers effectively. 10. Provide parent communication of SAC policies and procedures. 11. Administer medications and maintain medication and allergy records. 12. Maintain student confidentiality. 13. Oversee and maintain records of accidents. 14. Provide first aid and record action. 15. Demonstrate sensitivity to the individual needs of students. 16. Must communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all stakeholders. 17. Report any/all issues of concerns to School Age Care Coordinator in a timely manner. 18. Attend meetings and trainings as directed by School Age Care Coordinator. 19. Attend work regularly. 20. Perform other tasks as assigned by the School Age Care Coordinator.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This work regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, occasional pushing, pulling, lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work may require preparing and analyzing written or computer data, and observing general surroundings and activities; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. school cafeteria/playground/passageways).

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 1

. Experience in working with children in a structured setting. 2. Child development degree preferred. 3. Supervisory/ management experience preferred.
