Service Training Instructor

Job Information

Conduct service training classes for Bobcat dealership technicians, key accounts and government accounts customers, as well as internal personnel as needed. Instructor led classes are conducted as a mix of instructor led classroom presentations and hands on shop exercises.

Develop and keep current the online and instructor led training content used for training classes. Recognize, recommend and work with content development partners as a subject matter expert to develop online training courses.

This position will also be expected to learn the existing Bobcat dealer technician training curriculum and be capable of training it.

This position can be located anywhere in the United States with easy access to a major airport.

Role & Responsibility

Conduct Instructor Led Training Classes

• Train service technicians in the proper and safe maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of Bobcat equipment.
• Conduct train-the-trainer sessions with key accounts and our for Bobcats Field Service staff.
• Develop, administer, and perform in-house training sessions as required.
• Assess training needs and determine best procedures and methods of training on an ongoing basis.

Training Materials Development

• Develop and produce classroom and online training content needed to assist instruction of system diagnostics, service, and maintenance procedures.

Bench Strength

• Create a development plan to gain knowledge of existing service training cirriculium and be able to deliver training as needed to support training efforts and meet training goals.

Job Requirement

• Education: Associates degree in Technical field; Bachelors degree preferred
• Experience: 2>5 years
• Travel: >50%
• Electrical & Hydraulic Systems Knowledge
• Diesel Engine Knowledge
• Emissions Knowledge
• Presentation & Instructional Skills
• Microsoft Suite Understanding

• This role requires extensive travel, 12+ weeks per year.
• Awareness of product line changes, new products launches and launch timelines, customer ordering habits, and current product issues to provide a consistent and current training message. Monitor Service Publications, maintain close relationships with other service trainers, engineering, national accounts dept, and key customers.
• Adapt to the varied level of experience of technicians in each class. Quickly assess the group of technicians in each class and modify course content and instructional technique to ensure quality training for all students.
