Fertilizer Shed Operator/Dispatcher

Agtegra Cooperative is looking to add a Fertilizer Shed Operator/Dispatcher at our C arpenter, South Dakota location .

Position Summary

Responsible for running a 5,600-ton automated Dry Fertilizer Shed and a 975 ton automated Liquid fertilizer plant. Will blend fertilizer to custom orders and take orders from managers and agronomists. This person will also dispatch application equipment and trucks for fertilizing and spraying to the proper fields using Ag-Sync. Will also dispatch trucks in off-season to haul grain.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Mechanical abilities to Operate and maintain all equipment associated with blending, mixing, and loading dry bulk fertilizer and liquid fertilizer.
• Responsible for keeping accurate inventories of dry and liquid fertilizer receiving and dispatching within guidelines provided by the location manager.
• Must have a positive attitude and be customer focused.
• Maintain the housekeeping of the facilities including: elevation, warehouse, dykes, buildings, etc.
• Operate safely with Agtegra policies, procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Provide a high level of customer service by displaying courteous, helpful, knowledgeable interactions with our patrons.

Education and Experience Required

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 0-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of fertilizers would be beneficial.
• Computer knowledge is a must to run the Kahler System Agtegra uses.
• Ability to read and comprehend specific instructions reading maps and giving specific directions to applicators and truck drivers, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and manuals. Ability to deal with mechanical problems.
