Job Details

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Delivers ready mix, which is the primary responsibility.  Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivery of concrete to customers on the road and in the plant.
  • Collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
  • Operate loader to fill bins.
  • Delivers ready mix in the plant.
  • Must have knowledge of ready mix procedures or must be willing to be trained in.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment
  • Assist in maintenance of all equipment (trucks and plant).
  • Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
  • Take ready mix orders.
  • Follow all safety program guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED or
  • 1-3 months related experience and/or training or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Driver’s license, Class B license, CDL and current Health card.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PAY SCALE

  • Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
  • Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.
