CAD Designer
Stellar Hearth, a division of Hearth & Home Technologies is hiring a junior level CAD Designer to assist with preparing all engineering documents for new products. Working within a Lean Manufacturing environment, CAD Designers collaborate with production, engineering and marketing departments, translating part and ass embly ideas into manufacturable parts and assemblies. Your s trong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential to creating custom products for customers. Day to day responsibilities:
- Improve efficiency and support plant objectives by ensuring parts are properly assembled on the computer creating a correct fit when the parts are put together.
- P reparing prints, assemblies, bills of material and programs .
- R ead and interpret highly technical or complex data, information and project drawings.
- Provide drafting support for one large project in addition to numerous smaller projects/ECOs.
- Associate degree in mechanical drafting & design or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must understand tolerancing methods.
- U nderstanding of material and hardware standards, their capabilities, and intended purposes.
- A good understanding of sheet metal is preferred
- SolidWorks and/or CREO & WINDCHILL experience preferred.
