Position Description:
NDSU Libraries' seeks a collaborative, innovative, and user-oriented Stacks Supervisor (Library Associate) reporting to the Head, Access Services. This is a full-time, benefitted, year-round appointment. The Stacks Supervisor works in our Circulation Department managing daytime procedures and workflow in circulation, including patron assistance, student worker scheduling, training, evaluation, and supervision; overseeing stacks maintenance; and fine/billing management and report creation. Secondary responsibilities include assisting with course reserve services for the Main Library. The candidate for this position will also serve as liaison to faculty, students, and subject librarians in the promotion of circulation services, actively engage in professional development and other scholarly activities, and completes other projects and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• One (1) year supervisory experience
• Strong public service orientation with direct customer or patron service experience, with demonstrated ability to provide friendly, constructive, and effective service to a variety of patrons
• Working knowledge of library classification system(s) and standard library reference tools
• Operate personal computers, use various software and web-based applications and other office equipment sufficient to locate catalog information, word-process documents, complete forms and prepare reports
• Strong planning and organizational skills as well as oral and written communication skills
• Proven interpersonal skills evidenced by the ability to work cooperatively and Working knowledge of library classification system(s) and standard library reference tools and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, faculty, students, and staff

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with integrated library systems
• Library experience with circulation and stacks maintenance
• Experience with supervising students
