STARTING DATE: Approximately October 1, 2019
APPOINTMENT: Full-Time

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for teaching and learning and student success at the college.
  • Manage and supervise duties and operational activities of academic programs, division chairs, faculty, counseling, library services, online education, college in the high schools, and K-12 initiatives.
  • Provide direction and supervision for the faculty and programs within the Design and Liberal Arts Divisions.
  • Serve on the President’s Leadership Council (PLC).
  • Communicate widely in respective divisions and assigned areas and promote a culture of respect and innovation. 


Qualifications
Minimum:

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education.

Preferred:

  • PhD, EdD, or related professional doctorate degree
  • College teaching and curriculum development experience
  • Knowledge of college funding, policies, practices and procedures, program management, human resources practices, faculty contracts, and Minnesota State polices
  • Knowledge of higher education rules and laws
  • Understands and values the needs of a diverse population
  • Strong organizational and management skills including the ability to facilitate change
  • Supervision experience, including performance evaluation, and professional development
  • Knowledge and experience with online education
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including public speaking
  • Experience in partnering with K-12 systems and baccalaureate institutions
  • Experience with making decisions in stressful situations
  • Open, honest, respectful, and ability to remain confidential
  • Ability to use and support technology
