Applications are currently being accepted for a Full-time exempt level Assistant Administrator. This position can be based out of any Horizon Public Health office to include Alexandria, Glenwood, Morris, Elbow Lake and Wheaton but will require frequent presence in the Alexandria office.  This position is responsible for: assisting with operational oversight of programs; policy and procedure development, implementation and interpretation; coordinating and managing new initiatives; project management; personnel support and development; being a liaison with the public and our partners; making decisions about the allocation of departmental resources; assisting in budget development and oversight; strengthening agency and program quality and performance; assisting in system development to support accreditation; contributing to organizational competencies and capacity development; participating as an active member of the administrative team; and providing direction and supervision for supervisory and agency staff.  This position works under the general direction of the Public Health Administrator and in partnership with another Assistant Administrator along with supervisory staff to achieve Horizon’s mission to work in partnership with individuals and communities in creating an environment that promotes the health and improves the well-being of all people in Douglas, Grant, Pope, Stevens and Traverse Counties.  

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with coursework in nursing or public health related field and five or more years of experience in public health to include at least two years of management in a public health setting. Successful applicant must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug test.  Must have valid MN driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation.
