JOB SUMMARY

Assists in providing diagnostic radiographic procedures according to standards and guidelines. Provides quality patient care. Supports the general, ultrasound, and mammography technologists. Responsible for film filing functions. Image management functions. Able to perform reception duties, including clerical and filing to include reports into patient charts, locating, retrieving, and delivering patient records when needed. Serves as an ambassador of goodwill in providing department services to all clinical and non-clinical personnel. Ability and willingness to perform other duties as assigned by a Registered Nurse (RN) or Radiology Technologist.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Transport patients to or from exam rooms. Prepare and et up x-ray room for patient. Lists major technologies for heart function monitoring, e.g. Holter Monitor. Identifies the concepts and attributes of electrocardiogram examinations. Guides patients in scheduling appointments and laboratory tests according to established processes and policies. Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation. Complete quality control activities, monitor equipment operation, and report malfunctioning equipment to supervisor. Perform general administrative tasks, such as answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, or pulling and filing films.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or its equivalent. Eighteen years of age or older to be eligible for employment.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, but on-the-job training will be provided. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
