JOB SUMMARY

Lead all on-air programming and content, conducting interviews, developing and writing daily stories, and reporting on Sanford Health's news and events.
Work with a team of content writers and editors within the marketing department. This role will present Sanford Health stories in written, video and podcast formats; and will participate in all "live" news conferences and announcements. Ensure program continuity between broadcasts and ties all stories together in a cohesive, strategic manner. Maintain a strong presence across multiple social media platforms to advance the mission of Sanford Health.
Coordinate a variety of communications opportunities with new media. Recognizes and adapts to differences in background, culture, and language and work style, when working with others.
Lead the production of Sanford Health Podcasts series. Attend daily strategy sessions to identify timely healthcare content for website and social channels. Collaborate with marketing, public relations and communication teams to produce strategic content and programs.
Write, edit, direct, produce and promote daily content. Ensure stories are produced in an effectively, timely and responsible manner. Host interviews with Sanford Health physicians, leaders, employees and patients. Must be able to shoot, edit, produce own videos as a Multi Media Journalist. Contribute daily content on deadline.
Seek opportunities to promote public outreach, build community engagement and relationships. Collaborate with photographers and videographers to ensure stories are captured in a high quality fashion for multi-media distribution. Self-starter with out of the box approach to storytelling.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Promotes communications events with trade journals, newspapers, radio and television. Presents a professional image, especially when dealing with customers. Looks for and considers non-verbal cues from individuals and groups. Demonstrates experience participating in productive collaborative processes. Seeks and uses feedback to improve own presentation effectiveness. Builds a network of colleagues from other areas with diverse expertise and capabilities. Promotes the use of new media channel management methods as appropriate for the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in journalism, communications or related field required.
Proven work experience with a minimum of five years of experience. Comfortable and professional presence on camera. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under stressful conditions and deadlines. Strategic mindset. Previous health care experience preferred.
