Strom Engineering Minnesota has an exciting new opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer with a great company located in the Twin Cities, MN area.? This Mechanical Engineer will be designing and working with Manufacturing to enhance and develop new products used in hydro-expansion, hydro-testing and end-forming tubes using SolidWorks.
Duties:
* Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by developing and presenting concepts, designing and applying principles of mechanics, hydraulics and materials.?
* Improve existing and design new products.
* Interface with Inside Sales, Manufacturing, Vendors, Management and Customers developing solutions to sales applications.
* Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods.
* Assure system and product quality and reliability by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly and installation processes.
* Work closely with Marketing to develop specification details of products.
* Work with Marketing reviewing product documentation for use both internally and by customers.
* Work with Production as needed: (1) Find solutions to customer applications (2) Maintain product and company reputation (3) Train and guide technicians as needed (4) Contribute to team effort to accomplish goals.
Skills/Qualifications :
* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited technical University.
*?Experience: 4+ years preferred.
* Skilled in SolidWorks including FEM/FEA tools with SolidWorks.
* Knowledge of strength of stainless steel materials to include heat treating.
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills when interfacing with co-workers, vendors, management and customers.
* Preferred Skills: Design skills, presentation of technical information, equipment maintenance, conceptual skills, ? general consulting skill.
* Knowledge of fluid mechanics and machine design, not a requirement, but a plus.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S.A.
