MAHUBE-OTWA Community Action Partnership, Inc. is seeking applicants for Energy Assistant Intake Workers, in Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls, MN. These positions are full-time, seasonal (September through February), 40 hour/week benefited positions.

DUTY STATION: MAHUBE-OTWA Offices in Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls, MN.

QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: High School plus Technical/Vocational certificate and one to three years of related clerical experience or equivalent combination of education or experience; or a demonstrated capability to perform the job duties. PREFERRED: Experience with Laserfiche Document Management Systems.

BASIC FUNCTION: The Energy Assistant Intake Worker position is responsible for: Knowing rules and regulations for the Energy Assistance Program, Energy Related Repair program, Crisis Program, and Reach Out for Warmth; knowing the eHEAT computer system and entering client information accurately; collecting, documenting, and calculating income information needed to determine eligibility; making payment guarantees for households experiencing emergencies and arranging for fuel deliveries and repair contractors; negotiating with vendors for the prevention of disconnections or to arrange connections; composing letters to clients requesting additional information needed to complete their applications for assistance; explaining program guidelines and operation to households; knowing the resources available in our area and making referrals to agencies and programs as needed; providing courteous service to households while responding to as many as 50 phone calls a day; prioritizing clients' needs and multi-tasking to respond to emergencies and attending staff meetings and training. The person in this position must adhere to the Agency Standards of Conduct and Agency Values of client focused, community minded and resourcefulness. Must have the ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of client information and work materials.
