Application Developer

Pro-West & Associates, Inc. (www.prowestgis.com) is a GIS (geographic information systems) consulting firm located in Walker, MN and Crosslake, MN. Pro-West provides highly specialized GIS consulting, programming, and data management services. We are a team of professionals and technology experts who have delivered successful projects to our clients for almost 30 years!   We are one of the Upper Midwest’s longest-established private firms devoted entirely to assisting public and private entities with the integration of GIS technology throughout the country. 

Pro-West & Associates, Inc. is looking for an Application Developer who will serve as an integral member of our growing application development team. Our focus is on implementing custom and semi-custom spatial (GIS) technologies for government and private clients. We work collaboratively in small teams and independently on smaller projects.  Most importantly we are committed to great customer service to our clients and providing features that are of value to their businesses.  

This is a full-time position (40 hours a week), with vacation, personal days, holidays, IRA, health insurance and HSA benefits, and short-term and long-term disability insurance. The position is located in our Walker or Crosslake office.   

Education:  

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or 4+ years demonstrated work experience in application development.  

Job Responsibilities:

Participate in the design of simple and complex applications 

Work as part of a team to implement applications that adhere to design specifications 

Test, troubleshoot, and debug errors in new and existing applications 

Write clean, concise user and system documentation 

Participate in internal training and mentoring programs 

Participate in meetings with clients 

Required Qualifications:

Experience with JavaScript 

Experience with Microsoft.NET 

Experience using a database to save, query and load application data 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with web-based mapping libraries (eg. Google Maps, esri, Leaflet) 

Working knowledge of UI design principles 

Experience with MVC architecture or variant (MVVM, MVP, etc.) 

Web application development with HTML5 and CSS3 

Experience with Bootstrap or similar CSS framework 

Experience with relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server 

Experience with Python 

Experience working in small teams
