Overview

The Financial Reporting Manager position manages the SEC and internal financial reporting function of the company and manages the accounting for complex and technical areas of our business. This role reports to the Controller and will require the ability to effectively communicate to and partner with various levels of the organization, including senior level executives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage the drafting and filing processes for the Company's SEC filings, including 10-K/Q, 8-K, and XBRL.
  • Manage the financial reporting team, performing supervisor duties as appropriate.
  • Lead the quarterly disclosure committee process to ensure matters of disclosure importance are identified and evaluated for disclosure in SEC filings.
  • Monitor FASB and SEC developments to identify and document the potential impact of new pronouncements or other authoritative guidance and manage the implementation of related accounting and disclosure requirements.
  • Review, update, and draft accounting policies related to critical or complex accounting matters.
  • Maintain and monitor department compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in coordinating the annual financial statement and 401(k) audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors and internal accounting team.
  • Prepare or supervise monthly, quarterly and annual internal reporting processes.
  • Perform monthly accounting responsibilities including accounting for stock-based compensation and other equity transactions, perform calculations of basic and diluted earnings per share, and preparing monthly or quarterly reconciliations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, CPA certification preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting-related work experience for a public accounting firm and/or for an SEC registrant
  • Applicants with related military experienced are valued, and encouraged to apply
  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations and experience with in-house SEC filings
  • Demonstrated ability to research and interpret accounting guidance and applying such guidance to complex and technical transactions or events

  • Superior written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with various levels of the organization
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion and Wdesk preferred.
