JOB SUMMARY

Performs installation, maintenance, service, and repairs in a clinical setting. Serves in a support role for delivery and set-up of equipment. The Equipment Technician maintains home medical equipment rental equipment for customer use in accordance with HealthCare Accessories mission, vision and goals. Manages equipment in computer system, including preventative maintenance and manufacturing protocols. May be responsible for posting payments and managing the billing of home linked systems. Possesses a working knowledge of computers and vendor software. Knowledgeable in supplies, equipment, and warehouse terminology preferred. Skilled communicator, both verbal and written. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as experience in mentoring others desired. Must be trust worthy and able to complete tasks assigned without close supervision.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and carry out work assignments, using blueprints, schematic drawings, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, or liquid or air flow sheets, following prescribed regulations, directives, or other instructions as required. Perform preventive maintenance or service, such as cleaning, lubricating, or adjusting equipment. Keep records of maintenance, repair, and required updates of equipment. Meets regularly with customers to understand their wants, needs and expectations. Inspect and test malfunctioning medical or related equipment, following manufacturers' specifications and using test and analysis instruments. Study technical manuals or attend training sessions provided by equipment manufacturers to maintain current knowledge. Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers. Deliver equipment to specified hospital locations or to patients' residences. Install and set up medical equipment, using hand tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in equipment repair and maintenance preferred. Knowledge of tools and maintenance equipment helpful. When applicable, may need a valid driver's license. If valid driver's license is required, must maintain a good driving record.
