Building Charge The Building Charge is responsible for the overall functioning of the building during the designated shift. The Building Charge is responsible for providing direction of staff activities with a focus on active treatment. Building Charge needs to have a working knowledge of the personnel policies and procedures as well as the general policies and procedures of HMC. Building Charge will be available to assist as needed throughout the building. Schedule:? Must be able to work weekends, rotating shifts and Holidays. Education:? Must be at least 18 years of age. Would prefer at least 3 months? of leadership experience. Preferred qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Additional experience with people with developmental disabilities preferred or as required by regulations. Must be 18 years of age, or older. As applicable, must possess a valid driver?s license and good driving record as defined by Harry Meyering?s policy. Additional certifications may be required by regulations. Some positions may require access to a vehicle in sound operating condition and proof of current auto insurance. Clear background checks as defined by regulations and policies. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds. Ability to do daily standing, bending and lifting. Must be able to stand for eight hours at a time. Interest in assisting people supported to achieve personal outcomes and to provide person-centered supports. Must possess good verbal, reading and written communication in English, basic math skills and basic computer skills. Ability and willingness to successfully complete and apply training. Have the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with others. Flexibility with respect to hours of work and changing conditions?be of good moral character and have an interest in the welfare of the individuals, have training and/or interest in the field of developmental disabilities and have a willingness/ability to communicate with and relate to individuals, parents, guardians, fellow-staff, representatives of community agencies and company management. Trained in CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Procedures. Presents self in a professional manner. Demonstrates leadership and organizational skills. Possess strong person centered philosophy. Advocate for individuals served. Specific Responsibilities Communicates maintenance and safety issues promptly to Supervisor/Appropriate person. Account for the whereabouts of all individuals served, throughout the shift. Read communication book and progress notes. Follows directions, seeks clarification when needed. Communicates concerns regarding issues of safety, policies or personnel to the appropriate person(s). Responds to staff and situations and assists as needed. Works constructive towards change and improvement. Attends and participates in Staff Meetings and other relevant meetings.Respectfully communicates with other staff. Provide overall support, coaching, guidance and direction to staff as needed and follow up with supervisors. Approve overtime when needed to protect the safety of individuals served. Complete direct care absence forms. Address issues of staff absences, ensuring required staff ratios. Make necessary notations to the master schedules.
