Minimum Hiring Salary/Classification:  Commensurate with Experience, Exempt, Full-Time, Benefited
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans. 
Work Schedule:  Monday- Friday; 8am -4:30pm-May be the need for work outside of the normal schedule and travel.

Position Details:
Human Resources and the Manager of Recruitment works with the UND community to plan, develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain the best talent to the university.   



Manages the Recruiting/Talent Acquisition program for UND:

  • Partners with hiring leaders to understand current and forecasted business talent needs and hiring targets for local, regional and national recruitments.
  • Coordinates all hiring practices for all levels of staff positions.
  • Works with Academic Affairs and SMHS Academic to assist with recruitment of faculty positions.
  • Serves as a consultant to develop strategic recruitment plans to fill existing and anticipated pools.
  • Manages recruitment and selection process.
  • Drive the identification of talent pools and pipelines by mining candidate databases, tapping professional networks, leveraging social media such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.
  • Build long-term relationships with past and potential candidates.
  • Collaborates with UND Talent Management to ensure excellent hiring and onboarding of new employees.
  • Counsel candidates on university benefits, salary, and campus environment.
  • Work with Marketing and Creative Services to develop creative ways for addressing talent acquisition marketing challenges.
  • Represents UND internally and externally at events with goal of networking and relationship building with potential candidate communities.
  • Develop passive candidate sourcing strategy and pipelines using varied sources.
  • Manage and maintain diversity strategy to attract a diverse workforce to the company by hiring talented people of varied backgrounds, experiences and styles.
  • Share best practices, industry and market intelligence data in strategic business planning.

 
Manages and coordinates recruiting activities with external search firms and internal search committees

  • Partners with internal search committees to provide training and guidance on UND hiring requirements and employment law compliance in addition to informing the committee members on the applicants and candidates skills, abilities and knowledge.
  • Collaborates with area HR Managers to development an interview strategy.
  • Coordinates all partnerships with external recruiting firms. Leads the RFP discovery and selection process.Acts as main point of contact with recruiting consultants for all communication and collaboration.Serves as the liaison with the hiring leadership for recruited positions and the internal search committee and hiring leadership.
  • Provide training on best practices for interviewing.


Internal Talent Pool and Succession Planning:

  • Proactively incorporates internal talent pool. Partners with UND HR Managers with succession planning via internal talent pipelines.
  • Meets with internal candidates to discuss opportunities.


Human Resources Processes/Committees:

  • Ensures compliance with university, labor and employment law principles and practices to prevent any liability or other disparate impacts.
  • Research talent acquisition trends in the staffing industry and suggest new ideas as appropriate for improving talent acquisition activities.
  • Participates in other Human Resources projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Serve as the representative for the Staff Advisory Committee (SAC) for the division of Health Affairs/SMHS.Communicate out to the division any information relevant to staff and faculty.Serves on various working groups attached to SAC.
  • Serve on other committees or working groups as assigned regarding HR related functions as a member of the UND Human Resource Department.
  • Generates weekly/monthly updates for university leadership about current and upcoming talent acquisition initiatives and key metrics.
  • Other duties as designed to support the mission of UND and the department.
  • May supervise a full time staff member.


Required Competencies:
 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition to the ability to negotiate and influence others.
  • Must have the ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships and the demonstrated ability to collaborate with all levels of university leadership, staff and faculty by building trust and credibility.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and providing consultation to Senior Leadership within the Academic Affairs division as a business partner on strategic and tactical HR related business issues.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

Minimum Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 years full time professional experience working in recruiting/talent acquisition
  • Experience using social media and/or professional resume board systems such as Monster or Indeed.(Sourcing)
  • Proficient skills working with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook software
  • Experience using an applicant tracking software
  • Experience working with sourcing talent through social/digital media, resumes databases
  • Supervisory experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Background Check


Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Experience working in a full-time HR Generalist role
  • Experience working in Human Resources in higher education
