Qualifications:

  • Some post-secondary education required
  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field preferred
  • 3 or more years of related experience preferred
  • Proficiency with current technology for performance of duties; including graphics design and publication / print software required
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating execution of large scale projects
    • Valid MN Driver’s License

      General Statement of Responsibilities:
      The Communication Coordinator provides leadership and direction for all district wide internal and external communications, consistent with a well-defined strategy that supports and aligns with the district’s strategic mission, vision, and values.  Plan, develop and manage strategies for proactive public relations that inform, connect and engage students, staff, parents, and community members.   Prepare and publish school district publications. 
      Essential Duties:

    • District Marketing
      Promote and support the district’s brand and ensure that internal and external communications align with it;
      Recommend marketing strategies to promote and enhance the district’s image;
       Assist administrative team in marketing programs and events;
      Serve as primary contact for information about the promotion of school district;
      Organize and implement special projects for the district

    • Strategic Communications
      Advise and support school district staff on strategic and effective communications and public relations
      Monitor overall district communications for quality, consistency of message and effectiveness;
      Develop and coordinate publications of the district newsletter, annual report, and other communications as needed;
      Prepare student data for superintendent, buildings, and community;
      Assist with information campaigns for district elections

    • Community and Media Relations
      Support the development of a strategic communications and public relations plan to engage and connect the community to the schools for the purpose of keeping them informed, gathering feedback from them and increasing and maintaining public support for schools to benefit the education of all learners;
      Build strong working relationships with district stakeholders;
       Manage proactive media relations by establishing positive working relationships with local media outlets
