Our client, a health and human services organization based in Fargo-Moorhead, is currently seeking a Director of Nursing to join their long-term care team. The purpose of this role is to oversee the day-to-day resident care operations, provide leadership to nursing staff, and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations in support of the overall strategic direction of the organization.
The person in this role will be responsible to plan, develop, implement, and direct the nursing department to ensure operational efficiency and exceptional residential daily care. He/she will be a trusted contributor to strategic planning, implementation, and operational growth and excellence while mentoring and coaching nursing staff.
This role will be challenging and rewarding for the right person. It requires excellent leadership, diplomacy, inter-personal skills, conflict and change management, and collaboration with various departments and stakeholders. The next Director of Nursing will enjoy developing an engaged nursing team that is cohesive and proud of their career progression and impact within the facility. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS ??? Team Leadership and Management - Determine the development needs of staff and execute a clear strategy to grow and improve nursing staff, with follow up for accountability and sustainability. This includes daily rounds for visibility of operations, and collaboration between various departments to achieve excellence.
??? Operational Efficiency - Ensure the staffing levels of the nursing department meet the needs of residents, and acceptable standards to strike a strategic balance between efficiency, and compliance. The Director of Nursing will enjoy working alongside staff in direct care as needed, to mentor, fill gaps, and have full visibility of a smooth flow of operational needs of the facility. ??? Compliance and Regulation - Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures to comply with all state and federal regulations; developing staff as needed to be fully equipped to confidently fulfill their roles.
??? Continuous Improvement and Change Management - Plan, organize, develop, and implement strategies and action plans to address areas of improvement with a central purpose of increasing service and resident satisfaction.
??? Reporting - Respond to and submit timely and thorough reports (i.e. Vulnerable Adult Reports). Responsible for analyzing records and implementing care directives for residents.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION??? Outstanding leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire others??? Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.??? Must be able to effectively manage people and develop and implement goals and objectives with accountability??? Successful completion of an approved Registered Nurse education program required.??? Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred??? Experience in Long-Term Care is ideal with knowledge in rehabilitation nursing, gerontological nursing, nursing service administration, psychiatric nursing and all related aspects of long-term resident care.??? Knowledge of Long-Term Care laws and regulations preferred.
