POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent is responsible for student advisement and assisting in the enrollment and registration processes. The incumbent also serves as an admissions representative and international student contact - Designated School Official (DSO).

1. Provide advising services which include information, referrals, and academic support for all prospective and currently enrolled students.
2. Provide recruiting services college-wide.
3. Serve as the College in the High School contact.
4. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (expected to have to enter job):

Minimum Qualifications (expected to have to enter job)
* 2-year degree or diploma and two-years of related experience
* Proficiency with a variety of word processing, database and web-based applications sufficient to accurately collect data and create reports
* The ability to work with minimal supervision and ability to make decisions independently regarding workload, problems or situations
* Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations.
* Excellent organizational, planning, and management skills
* Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) in order to communicate effectively with students, employees without supervision or review
* Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills
* Willing to work as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications (desired but not expected to have to enter job)
* Baccalaureate Degree in a related field, i.e. Human Resources, Public Administration, Social Work
* Experience in higher education
* Experience in developing academic plans
* Knowledge of public, private, and community social services and resource agencies sufficient to provide referrals to students
* Knowledge of private data practices and FERPA
* Experience providing academic and/or employment case management
* Knowledge of the functions of Academic Affairs and of Northland Community and Technical College
