Position Summary
The primary responsibility of this position will be weighing and grading grain trucks as well as weighing distillers' products, by working closely with customers, partners, and other employees to effectively receive and ship products. They will also work with supervisors and grain accounting to ensure that all accounting is accurate. Additional duties will be monitoring and maintaining grain quality and blending, safety training & compliance, as well as operation duties of unloading and loading grain.

Education and Experience Required
The primary responsibility of this position will be weighing and grading grain trucks as well as weighing distillers' products, by working closely with customers, partners, and other employees to effectively receive and ship products. They will also work with supervisors and grain accounting to ensure that all accounting is accurate. Additional duties will be monitoring and maintaining grain quality and blending, safety training & compliance, as well as operation duties of unloading and loading grain.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for weighing and grading inbound and outbound trucks.
- Obtains grain samples using necessary equipment and grades & bins grain accordingly.
- Communicates the grain and grade to the facility operators on each load. Communicates and works closely with the Location Manager to ensure day-to-day grain activities run efficiently.
- Communicates daily with grain supervisor or attendants to understand all grain strategies and to get daily instruction that will help complete the daily tasks and bin grain accordingly.
- Partners with Grain Accounting for accurate and efficient accounting of grain. Contacts customers regularly informing them of dumping hours, potential dumping delays, and market opportunities.
- Assists customers with marketing possibilities, ultimately working towards purchasing that producer's grain.
- Stays informed of current company programs and other information necessary to handle grain accurately and efficiently.
- Provides daily current market prices to customers and other pertinent market information.
- Keeps grain room, scale area, scale, and grading equipment clean and in optimum working condition.
- Depending on location, this position may also be responsible to make grain contacts and grain settlements.
Grain Specialist & Safety Administrator Responsibilities
- Responsible for safety and regulatory compliance as the administrator.
- Coordinates location safety trainings and associated documentation for proper safety compliance for grain facilities.
- Coordinates permit required Confined Space entries.
- Works with maintenance and operations to ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Responsible for updating RCI to ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
- Works as part of the BASE Team as needed.
- Responsible for participating as a location behavioral based safety observer.
- Responsible for assisting in accident/incident root cause investigations.
- Assist in unloading, binning, blending, and loading of grain.
- Monitor grain quality and ensure proper practices are in order to make profitable blends.
Education and Experience Required
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
