Forum Communications and WDAY-TV, the #1 news station in Fargo, North Dakota, is looking for a Staff Meteorologist. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering weathercasts for our digital platforms. Your main area of focus will be working on forecasting for our websites in Rochester and Duluth, Minnesota. You will also help deliver weather forecasts and reports for Radio and TV. We have the latest WSI weather system with all the bells and whistles. A 4-year degree is required.

WDAY is an Emmy award winning, locally owned and operated station. We produce more than 30 hours of local news each week. We have a staff of over 35 journalists working in news, weather and sports. Our newsroom includes spacious work areas for each employee, a makeup room, meeting spaces and a hangout area complete with couches and televisions.

WDAY has helped launch the careers of many news professionals around the country. We have alumni in many of the county's top markets including Minneapolis, Denver, Phoenix, Detroit, Chicago, Tampa Bay, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas.

Position Requirements

  • BA in Journalism or Communication

  • At least one year experience in Meteorology and reporting in a professional environment.
  • Exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills are a must.
  • Able to work well with others, under pressure and with strict deadlines.
  • Be able to operate computer systems used for making and displaying weather graphics.
  • Able to work well with others, under pressure and with strict deadlines.


Must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that is insurable by the company.

Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.
