Job Description
A Designer is responsible for completing the following duties:
- Create routing and bills of material in JD Edwards ERP system
- Use SolidWorks and Autocad to create and maintain models and detail drawings
- Use Windows-based PC software, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Contribute ideas for new designs or improving existing designs
- Understand and use Engineering related modules of JD Edwards Enterprise One
- Create accurate detail drawings according to general drafting standards
- Work with sales group, shop, and customers to complete tasks according to schedule
- Create bills of material in a structured manner
- Make sensible material selections for new and custom products
- Be aware of existing designs
- Verify that markups on shop drawings and/or bills of material are valid and are carried through
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Certifications or Technical education and/or applicable experience in drafting
- Training and / or experience in using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Google Drive and Windows-based programs effectively
- Thorough understanding of dimensioning and tolerances
