Child Support Specialist

Grant County, an Equal Opportunity Employer, located in Elbow Lake is currently accepting applications for the positions of a full-time Child Support Specialist. Required qualifications include a high school diploma and a Associates/Technical degree with coursework in human services, criminal justice, business administration, or related field and considerable experience in support enforcement and collections, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position under the supervision of the Income Maintenance Supervisor performs intermediate skilled human support work involving the intake, location and establishment of paternity in the initiation of child support enforcement, the collection of medical assistance debt, and the collection of fees for services provided or funded by Social Services. This position is responsible for establishing income withholding, levy bank accounts, and intercept State and Federal Taxes. Establish and modify basic medical and child care support by interviewing clients, employers, multiple collateral sources and work closely with private and County Attorney's through the process.
