FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Perform location installation, start-up commissioning, service and repair on Turbine Power Generators, Traction Alternators, and Motor-Generator Sets manufactured by the company in accordance with directives and policies governing such services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with the company and customer’s engineering personnel on the technical matters and coordinate their instructions and recommendations.
• Manage all on-site installation, commissioning, and start-up initialization to ensure correct operating requirements.
• Make on-site customer service and repair calls to investigate operating difficulties, diagnose problems and determine reasons, nature of correction, make repairs or adjustments to remedy malfunctions if deviation is the fault of the product.
• Maintain a sound working relationship with the customer’s personnel to maintain the image of our and products.
• Work from engineering drawings and specifications, detailed written and verbal instructions and handbooks.
• Proficiency in using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments, e.g., micrometers, calipers, tachometers, levels, and electrical meters.
• Provide appropriate documentation necessary to gain/maintain access to customer facilities and/or meet all customer requirements.
• Willing and able to travel approximately 50% to 60% nationally and internationally without restrictions.
• Travel premium for International travel.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports.
• Training provided for service and repair on Generators, Alternators, and Motor-Generator Sets.
• This position reports to the Field Service Manager.

Requirements

• Education: Minimum – GED, High School Diploma. Preferred – Associate’s Degree.
• 4-6 years proven field service experience or related experience and/or training.
• US Citizenship
• Must pass background and drug screening checks.
