Service Technician - Food Processing/Packaging Equipment

Home Office.  Ideally, anywhere in the WI, MN, IL, IA areas.

Global company designs and develops a wide range of food grade bulk powder packing, conveying and handling equipment supplying the dairy, infant formula, nutrition and pharmaceutical industries.

Responsibilities:

Primary contact person for service and breakdown support.

Service current client companies in aftermarket support (2-4 visits per year), new equipment installation and commissioning.

Provide both regular planned and preventative maintenance as per the individual client sites service agreements and breakdown service support.

Coordinate planned and preventative maintenance service visits as per service agreements.

Engage with client on site, analyse equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problem and determine actions needed to restore system to performance specification.  Tuning of equipment, perform client training; routine preventive maintenance techniques, site spare parts audits, providing written customer reports and promoting company service, parts and upgrades as appropriate.

75% travel by company truck or air.

Qualifications:

5+ years of maintenance experience -- servicing, troubleshooting and repair of food processing or food packaging machinery.

Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure equipment performance at manufacturers specifications. 

Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, and PLC control systems.

Experience in reading diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications and service manuals to determine work procedures.

Salary: $35.00 - $40.00/hour + O/T, Medial, Laptop, Phone, Company Truck, Vacation.
