Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $39,500/annual - 10 month position, Benefited, Exempt

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm. Will be required to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible evening and weekend hours.

The mission of the Office of University Admissions is to attract and enroll an academically -prepared student body that is geographically, ethnically, and economically diverse. The Admissions Representative is responsible for the recruitment of undergraduate students to the University of North Dakota.  The position delivers the UND recruitment message to his/her territory’s high schools and community colleges, working closely with prospective freshman and transfer students, their parents, and high school guidance counselors.  Admissions Representatives support the Admissions recruitment mission and the overall mission of the University.  The messages conveyed and strategies employed will be consistent with an overall strategic student recruitment plan.
 

  • Set and meet territory goals utilizing data analytics.
  • Strategically plan communication and outreach activities with students using predictive data analytics.
  • Actively communicate with families/influencers
  • Carry out recruitment strategies and cultivate interest among prospective students and families, thereby increasing the number of inquiries, applicants, deposits, and enrolled students.
  • Represent UND at college fairs, outreaches, and other events.
  • Develop and foster relationships with students and their families through on- and off- campus events and on-going communication.
  • Disseminate information effectively and with accuracy.
  • Answer inquiries from prospective students and families regarding all elements of the recruiting decision, including admission, registration, academic programs, transfer credits, financial aid/scholarship, housing and residence life.
  • Accurately portray university educational programs, expected outcomes, student services, and financial considerations to students, parents and educators.
  • Deliver group presentations about the benefits of attending the University of North Dakota.
  • Will be familiar with objectives, requirements and content of all programs offered by the university in order to make a complete and factual presentation to prospective students and other interested parties.
  • Will consistently conduct follow-up with all enrollments to assure successful matriculation.
  • Serve as an overall representative of the University, both on- and off-campus, to prospective students, families, and secondary school counselors.
  • Will work with team members to continually improve the recruitment processes and strategies.
  • Will travel to high schools and community colleges in the Fall and Spring seasons to present information on UND and meet with students, parents and guidance counselors/academic advisors.
  • Will devise an effective travel plan in coordination with Assistant Director.  Make travel arrangements within the budget guidelines and while being a good steward of University resources.
  • Maintain contact with prospective students and their families through the entire admission process using direct mailings, phone, email, text and other forms of communication. 
  • Document communications in Hobsons Connect CRM.
  • Take part in planning on- and off-campus recruitment events.
  • Serve on UND committees as appropriate.
  • Back-up admissions processing as needed
  • Serve as back-up to other recruitment segments/territories
  • Support the workplace culture of the Office by demonstrating the professional conduct and values expected of all employees.
  • Represent UND in a professional manner at all times by providing excellent communication and services.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.

  • Will load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment (lift up to 40 pounds).
  • Represent UND in a professional manner at all times by providing excellent communication and services.

Minimum Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Records Check

 Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Experience directly related to successful college recruitment & promotion.
  • Experience in marketing, public relations, or sales.
