Hiring Department: CoBPA Dean’s Office/Graduate Programs

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $44,000 Full Time, Benefited, Exempt
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans.  
Work Schedule:   Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Some evenings and/or weekends.

The purpose of this position is to serve as the admissions officer and advisor for select CoBPA Graduate Programs. The programs this includes are the MPA, MSAE, and MACC programs. In addition, the five graduate certificate programs in business. In addition, the position duties will include alumni outreach for the above graduate business programs and certificates. The position will be a critical component to increasing graduation rates and growing enrollments in CoBPA graduate programs
 

Admission Review for the MPA, MSAE, MACC, and Certificate Programs

  • Conduct initial review of all applications for the aforementioned programs
  • Provide CoBPA admission decisions to the School of Graduate Studies
  • Communicate with applicants on admission decisions
  • Collect, organize, and interpret data for the programs. For example, admissions, graduation, and retention data
  • Route applications to the pertinent faculty if the application needs to be considered for provisional admission

Advisor for the MPA, MSAE, MACC, and Certificate Programs

  • Communicate instructions for navigating UND processes and resources (ex. School of Graduate Studies forms, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Tech Support)
  • Discuss appropriate course sequencing, as well as assist with registration
  • Maintain frequent communication with the advisees in order to increase retention in graduate programs
  • Serve as the advisor for all CoBPA Accelerated Bachelors/Masters (ABM) and CoBPA Combined Bachelors/Masters (CBM) students who enroll in the MAcc. MPA, or MSAE
  • Assist all ABM and CBM students with completing a combined program of study form
  • Become knowledgeable on undergraduate degree requirements for the Bachelor of Accountancy, Bachelor Business Economics, Bachelor of Public Affairs, and Bachelor of Political Science in order to advise ABM and CBM students.
  • Work with MSAE faculty and students to ensure independent study documents meet deadlines in order to ensure students can advance to candidacy in the desired semester
  • Complete final reports on candidates who have applied to graduate

Assist with Graduate Recruitment Efforts

  • Respond to prospective MPA, MSAE, MACC, and Certificate student inquiries
  • Communicate with leads which are received from marketing and creative services
  • Monitor MPA, MSAE, MACC, and Certificate leads in the CRM and assist individuals through the admissions funnel
  • Schedule and execute campus recruiting efforts
  • Frequent CoBPA classrooms to encourage undergraduate students to consider ABM/CBM program options
  • Attend departmental events when possible. For example, field trips, club meetings, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Skills with MS Office Suite
  • Must have experience working in a higher education environment that promotes being a part of a team and working with students, faculty, and staff

  • Successful completion of criminal history background check.
