Hiring Department:    Information Resources, School of Medicine and Health Sciences

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:   $55,000 +/ year, Full-Time, Benefited, Exempt, Can be located in either Fargo or Grand Forks, ND
Benefits: Include single or family health care coverage, basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave. Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans.
Work Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Software Development and Design:
 

  • Work with Application Developer to maintain existing SMHS .Net web applications, with a focus on front-end development.
  • Provide backend services creation and maintenance on Windows servers.
  • Implement or consume APIs or SDKs from internal or external sources.
  • Maintain development workflow software for continuous integration and deployment of software.
  • Apply authentication techniques in websites.
  • Secure applications and perform vulnerability tests.
  • Troubleshoot problems that might arise in applications and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop applications using modern web application framework.


Information Technology Support:
 

  • Provide technical support and training for all custom-built applications
  • Coordinate, collaborate, and contribute to the team efforts of all Information Resources staff and be willing to provide help where applicable

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability and desire to learn and improve skills.

Minimum Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in web application development.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Gif, Mercurial, SVN).
  • Experience developing web applications using popular back-end and front-end web frameworks (ASP.NET, Anular, jQuery, Vue js).
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Knowledge of UX design best practices.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies (EF6, EF Core).
  • Experience using CI/CD tools.
  • Familarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Proficiency with automated testing platforms and unit tests.
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization techniques in websites.
  • Experience with securing applications and performing vulnerability tests.
