POSITION SUMMARY

This is an entry-level computer technician position to provide basic hands on service and support to end users throughout the SSC on a wide variety of hardware and software. This position will also be responsible for pulling of wire for telephones and networking of computer workstations. In all interactions, the position is responsible for making STAR service to guests and fellow team members a first priority.

 

 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides exceptional, STAR Service to ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Performs the position-specific STAR service expectations, as outlined by the department.

Installs new computers and associated equipment as requested. Performs moves and re-installs existing equipment per work order.

  • Installation of personal computer per work order.
  • Installation of internal and external computer hardware per work order.
  • Installation of copiers, fax machine, printers, scanners, time clocks and telephone equipment per work order.

 

Installs and removes computer software per specifications as requested by end users Department.

  • Installation of computer software per work order.
  • Configures software to function properly per work order.

 

Supports end users with basic computer hardware and software errors per work order to maintain the flow of data processed for the SSC.

  • Diagnose and resolve basic problems with computer hardware.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic software errors.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic errors with internal and external computer hardware.
  • Support services with copiers fax machine, printers, scanners, time clocks and telephone equipment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Performs daily maintenance on computers and related hardware. Monitors and performs backups per schedule of system applications and databases to insure that data integrity is maintained.

  • Performs basic maintenance on computers, copiers, and fax machine, printers, scanners, time clocks and telephone equipment.
  • Monitors and performs daily, weekly, monthly and yearly backup’s on computer systems.
  • Installs scale information and recalibrates scale to maintain data integrity.

 

Pulls wire for computer network and telephones from workstation to wire closets for communication equipment.

  • Installs communication cables for computer network
  • Installs communication cables for telephone system.
  • Makes basic termination

 

 

Minimum Requirements

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year collage or technical school in related field preferred. We will consider three or more years related work experience in related field and/or training or equivalent of education and experience. MS Office experiences a plus.

 

 

Certificates, Licenses & Designations

Must Meet licensing requirement as prescribed by the Tribal-State Compact for gaming

(White Earth Gaming License)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

 

  • Knowledge – On Personal Computers.
  • Knowledge – Of Microsoft Windows, MS Office and various other Software platforms.
  • Skills – In resolving basic computer errors on various hardware platforms
  • Skills – In resolving basic errors on various software platforms
  • Skill & Ability – Maintain a positive relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Ability – Read and understand Gaming MICS.
  • Ability – Frequently sit for long periods of time (up to 4 Hours)
  • Ability – To occasionally stoop, bend, squat and lift 25–50 pounds.
  • Ability – To climb ladders, reaching above/below shoulder height.
  • Ability – To distinguish colors
  • Ability – To work varying shifts and to be on stand by for one week on a rotating schedule.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed frequently in an office setting and occasionally on the Casino floor where the noise level can be moderate to loud.
  • Occasional exposure to moderate concentration of tobacco smoke.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, dirt and debris.
  • Minimal risk of electric shock.

  • *Shift differential of additional $1.25/hr for swing and night shift and an additional weekend differential of $1.25/hr. Requirements based on position. Available for hours worked after a team member completes their 90-day probationary time frame.
