DEPARTMENT DETAILS

We are looking for a leader to join our Eye Services management team. We have an exciting opportunity for a candidate with experience in business management and leadership including analytics, planning, marketing and staff development. Prior healthcare management is preferred but not required.

JOB SUMMARY

Formulates medical and business direction for Eye Services including Ophthalmology, Optometry, and Retail Optical. Performs daily operational management for Eye Services locations.
Manages and evaluates work activities and provide day-to-day operational direction and leadership. Conduct and review, monthly financial statements and budget preparation. Monitor work productivity or quality to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures. Creates action plans that ensure the accomplishment of productivity or quality responsibilities. Maintain customer services imitative implementation, customer obtainment, and retention activities. Articulates potential positive and negative impacts on the business and community of company actions and practices. Displays respect and ethical behavior toward coworkers, customers, and other stakeholders. Establish or maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, marketing, and other public interest groups. Oversees clinic activities for area companies and their employees, and provide guidance to make sure to compliance with the philosophy, policies, procedures, and goals of Sanford.
Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem solving. Understands accounting, budgeting and analyzing projects and data. Demonstrates understanding of services, procedures and opening/end of day processes. Distributes work in areas of responsibility in order to achieve department/clinic goals. Emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, positive attitude, productivity and completion of work within established periods.
Demonstrates leadership to employees, serving as a role model, and encouraging vision and change projects. Understand the critical components associated and required to achieve intended results and ability to assist in hiring, selection, retaining, and leveraging talent. Collaborates and provides feedback in measuring employee performance. Assists in the training of new staff members and the development of existing staff members. Practices positive collaboration and converts difficult interactions into productive ones.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Uses varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate. Shifts focus among several efforts as required by changing priorities. Monitors progress, provides feedback, support, and course correction as necessary. Mediates and resolves conflicts among individuals, groups, and departments. Makes sound recommendations when faced with complex and contradictory alternatives. Incorporates new information and concepts quickly and automatically. Focuses activities on developing and maintaining positive customer relationships. Delivers written and oral communication, responds to questions and concerns, and produce specific outcomes and impact. Cultivates a sense of shared purpose and responsibility toward team objectives. Adapts easily to changing work demands.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in applied health or healthcare management.
Work experience in ophthalmology/optometry and/or retail optical preferred. Must have two years supervisory experience. Must have knowledge of healthcare operations, business finance, planning, healthcare regulations and standards.
