JOB SUMMARY

Agile Coach, or Scrum Master, in the Application Development (AD) team will work with high-quality software development teams using new technologies (web and mobile), Development Operations (DevOps), serverless, agile, industry standards using Cloud/Mobile and application programming interface (API) first approaches. Works closely with the leadership team of multiple software groups within this group. This Agile Coach will often assume the position of a liaison between technical team members and product owners while managing projects, relationships, and facilitating software development teams, specifically with scrum as the development methodology. Work in collaboration with technologists of all levels, skills, and experience to help ensure the technology internal and external employee's use is serving its purpose and more. Demonstrate the ability to help the teams to develop clear objectives, communicate and clear barriers and focus on delivering value. Perform in the role of coach and practitioner, requiring agile values and principles to ensure scrum standard methodologies are followed.
Coach and guide the agile teams and relevant parts of the organization on how to effectively use agile/scrum practices and to delight customers as the highest priority.
Coach and guide the agile teams in scrum methodology and continuous process improvement of software delivery.
Assess the scrum maturity of the teams and organization and coaching to higher levels of maturity.
Assist and education product owners and teams in story writing, backlog maintenance, prioritizing and planning.
Instill agile project management best practices including risk management, cross-team interdependencies, scope definition, delivery objectives, and quality standards.
Identify opportunities for process and tool improvements from concept to implementation.
Lead continuous improvement efforts with teams and scrum masters by implementing takeaways from retrospectives and implementing solutions to make the teams more efficient and improve delivery success.
Develop, support, and evaluate critical metrics established by the agile transformation.
Support and lead team level agile maturity assessments and implement those practices.
Facilitate product owner input and team interactions; ensure the communication of scope and requirement changes throughout the team, including sprint impact analysis.
Support product owner in management of the backlog, ensuring scrum process standards, identification of stakeholders and stakeholder condition of acceptance.
Support product development by providing high-level business analysis and development estimates, including coordination of multiple product analysis.
Appreciate the differences between every project, ensuring passion for innovation, excitement about new and upcoming technologies, and desire to make an impact.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Promotes a team culture that balances individual initiative and team collaboration and sharing of successes. Communicates both within the team and to stakeholders. Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans. Shares information that may be relevant to other teams across divisions, Work collaboratively with developers, technical leads, product owners, and software architects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering field required. Master's degree preferred.
Prior experience in the role of software developer required. Foster knowledge by sharing and assisting with creation and delivery of best practices documentation and training materials. Experience with numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the international gaps left in the scrum framework (examples: burn down/up techniques, user stories, acceptance test driven development (ATDD), test driven development (TDD), continuous integration/delivery, etc.)
Certified Scrum Master certification required at time of hire. Certified Scrum Developer certification desired.
