Description


If selected for the Construction Field Engineer position, you will report to the Constructability Superintendent and will play an integral part in the areas of HSE, engineering, planning/scheduling, fabrication/construction, completion, and handover/turnover.



Your responsibilities may include:

  • HSE
    • Be a leader in HSE through individual performance and compliance with expectations.
    • Participate in pre-start / toolbox meetings when on site.
    • Communicate unsafe conditions to field leadership for correction.
    • Correct unsafe acts when they are observed.
    • Engineering
    • Review/comment on drawings from IFA through IFC and actively participate in model reviews
    • Provide constructability/operability input into design.
    • Own constructability suggestion log and monitor implementation of suggestions and their impact
    • Develop CWP with support from other disciplines, inclusive of the following items:
      • Confirm CWP readiness
      • Review BOM to ensure it is complete and delivery will meet construction needs
      • Confirm CWP contents are ready prior to construction start.
      • Confirm all material/equipment is available prior to construction start.
      • Facilitate After Action Reviews (AAR) upon completion of construction to find opportunities for improvement
  • Planning/Scheduling
    • Actively participate in building project/program schedules.
    • Monitor procurement and fabrication progress to ensure it aligns with construction need dates
    • Participate in weekly progress meetings with contractors (both engineering and construction)
    • Communicate upcoming completion and PSSR dates with Operations to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operation
  • Fabrication/Construction
    • Support fabrication through participation in fabrication kick off meetings and performing periodic inspections as needed
    • Actively participate in fabrication progress meetings
    • SPOC between construction and engineering to ensure consistent and timely communication of issues/needs
    • Facilitate construction KO meeting
    • Actively participate in construction progress meetings
    • Regular field presence to proactively identify issues
    • Support construction efficiency by timely response to RFIs
    • Support the relationship with operations by maintaining proactive communication
  • Completion
    • Support timely completion of construction through actively monitoring activities
    • Schedule and participate in completion walkdowns with construction to ensure facilities are complete prior to PSSR / walkdown with operations
    • Build and own work-to-do list crafted during walkdowns prior to PSSR and work with Project Lead to ensure all work is completed
  • Handover/Turnover
    • Oversee, schedule and participate in the PSSR walkdown with construction




Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or foreign equivalent
  • Intermediate level of knowledge regarding engineering and construction codes and standards

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of fabrication experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in the oil and gas industry
  • 1+ years of Defect Elimination experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Project Controls methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with external and internal stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues as they arise
  • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
