Simon specializes in aggregates, asphalt and ready-mix concrete production, asphalt paving, and concrete, bridge, highway, and utility construction. Simon has strong local ties backed by global resources, focusing on quality and value to deliver the best products and services for our clients.

Summary: Drives a commercial truck equipped with auxiliary mixer to deliver ready-mix concrete to job sites

Responsibilities:
Supports the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
Maneuvers truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement, and water and starts mixer
Slumps loads to specifications/requirements
Drives truck to location for unloading and ensures conditions at job site are safe
Assembles chutes and attaches to truck; operates controls on truck to release concrete down truck chute into wheelbarrow or other conveying container or directly into area to be poured with concrete
Performs daily a pre and post-trip safety check on equipment and truck to assure a safe vehicle
Documents any maintenance that may be required
Cleans truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening on mixer and on truck
May operate other equipment such as loaders, skid steers, fork lifts, and dump trucks
Assists with the form/pour/strip of precast products
May spray surfaces of truck with protective/cleaning compound to prevent adhering of concrete
Assists work crews as required; assists with maintenance of plant and equipment
Maintains necessary logs, timecards and other required paperwork

Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience:
Minimum Class B CDL with Air Brakes and clean driving history required
At least 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred
Basic industrial truck maintenance experience preferred, but not required
Prior experience working with concrete production, construction, and/or related field preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
Frequent exposure to loud noise
Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
