Overview

This Director of Nursing position leads Perioperative Services at Fairview Ridges Hospital, located in Burnsville Minnesota. Working in collaboration with the VP of Operations and the CNO/VP, this role will lead nursing practice, patient care operations, quality/safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, finance and other operational accountabilities for the OR, Pre-Post/PACU, Perioperative Business Services, Endoscopy and Sterile Processing.

We perform approximately 9,000 surgical cases per year in 14 OR rooms. OR specialty areas including: Orthopedics, GYN, General, Spine, Urology, ENT and da Vinci robotic surgery. Our team of nurses and techs work closely with multiple disciplines to provide a patient and family centered experience. With our strategic location just south of the Minnesota River, Fairview Ridges Hospital promotes the health of surrounding communities and continues to experience growth.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to and executes the vision for promoting clinical excellence and program growth in a highly matrixed organization and competitive marketplace.
  • Collaborates and aligns with other leaders, both site and system based, to ensure high quality services are provided within professional regulatory and accrediting body standards. Drives vision and strategy that advance the strategic imperatives utilizing organizational process improvement methodologies.
  • Ensures overall clinical quality and safety that meets or exceeds national best practice benchmarks.
  • Partners with Advanced Practice Nurses, physicians and other stakeholders to drive quality patient outcomes.
  • Accountable for viable financial performance including operating and capital budgets of assigned departments.
  • Ensures operations function at high levels of efficiency
  • Leads an environment that achieves or exceeds organizational goals for customer service.
  • Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.
  • Partners with the interprofessional team members/leaders across the continuum of care, to achieve organization outcomes.
  • Oversees identified programs as assigned.
  • Partners in developing and administering policies and procedures.
  • Responsible to assist the VP of Operations and the CNO/VP with planning and management of initiatives and tasks which advance nursing strategic and operational work at a local and system level.
  • Leads teams based on mission, vision and values of organization.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Education

    Master's degree in nursing, health care administration, business administration or related field. If masters is not in nursing then Bachelor's degree must be in nursing.

    Preferred Education

    DNP

    Minimum License/Certification/Registration

    Current RN licensure in the State of Minnesota or ability to obtain prior to start date.

    Minimum Experience

    3-5 years patient care experience in an acute care setting.

    3-5 years recent experience in management and leadership.

    Preferred Experience

    Perioperative experience highly preferred.
