He or she will contact existing, inactive, or potential shippers to secure shipments for current and future carrier requirements; evaluate and maintain a shipper base in the data system on an ongoing basis; and maintain updated information on all available shipments.Education And ExperienceHigher education (i.e., two- or four-year degree) preferred but not requiredMust have experience in trucking and/or logistics 1 or more year(s) experience B2B sales preferredA good understanding of marketing, sales, and customer service principlesSelf-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spiritStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the internetStrong sales and negotiation skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent time management and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal skillsHard-worker with a drive for results who can persevere in the face of resistance or setbacksStrong work ethic and sense of integrity; trustworthyCreative in brainstorming and proposing new ideas and solutions to existing problemsExcellent customer service skillsExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenWilling and able to travel occasionally, including overnight travelEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAttracts and retains qualified customersNegotiate rates with customers, entering and recording all terms and conditions of shipment agreementsQualifies new customers/shipments, matching ATS Logistics requirements with customers' needs and profileResponds to customers' requests for service and resolves issuesMakes sales presentationsEffectively communicates with the logistics operations team & other ATS operating divisionsManages a book of business in excess of a million dollars annuallySpeak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; respond well to questions; write clearly and informatively; able to read and interpret written informationBalance team and individual responsibilities; give and welcome feedback; contribute to building a positive team spiritSet and achieve challenging goals; measure self against standard of excellenceInfrequent travel may be requiredPosition may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hoursIn support of ATS's culture, all employees are expected to consistently, effectively and reliably perform in accordance with the Company's values as set forth in our core competencies and behaviors (All Employee and All Manager Competencies)Performs other duties and responsibilities as assignedSound like this is for you?Apply today!It's an exciting time to be part of the ATS family.
