Job Title : Retail Service Technician FLSA : Non-Exempt Department: Grocery Revision Date : 08/2019 General Function : Diagnoses problems with and performs preventative maintenance, repairs and part replacement on all HVAC & Refrigeration related equipment and controls. Reporting Relations: Accountable and Reports to: Store Director, Assistant Director Store Operations Direct Reports: None Primary Duties and Responsibilities : Maintains and repairs equipment and building to ensure good working order and meets OSHA regulations. Establishes work orders and develops schedules to implement assigned tasks. Performs HVAC & refrigeration related repairs, investigates reported problems areas, and contacts suppliers/vendors for best possible parts pricing. Rotates between several stores in surrounding areas. May be asked to gather pricing for replacement of equipment, lighting, and fixtures needed and makes recommendations to supervisor. Keeps work area, tools and equipment clean, good repair and in proper placement. Creates definitive maintenance schedules and practice preventative maintenance. Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: Attends safety meetings as assigned. Available for a variety of shifts as the project dictates. Solicits feedback on any trends with any equipment that may require follow-up with manufacturer or sales people. Monitor utility benchmarking utilizing Engie- Hy-Vee's bench marking tool Maintain EPA required records using Hy-Vee's Refrigerant Management system Shares ideas and practices for any potential energy savings projects. Ability to interact with HVAC/Refrigeration controls systems Performs other job related duties and special projects as required. Commitment to continuous learning Education and Experience: High School or equivalent experience, HVAC & Refrigeration Certified. Appropriate Certifications. Verisae refrigerant management system - EPA Compliance. OSHA required safety training. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: Maintains appropriate certifications. Certified in HVAC and refrigeration Must have a valid driver's' license. Employer will provide tools, equipment, and work vehicle Professional appearance and demeanor (I'd add something about potential customer interaction) Working Conditions : Retail store setting with customers and employees. Contacts: Contact with Store Director, suppliers, vendors, corporate office personnel, subsidiary personnel and the general public to obtain parts and services. Contact with customers requires great customer service.
