About the role

Where you'll work

Jackson, WI dry beverage plant has two Filtermat Spray Dryers that produce specialty dried ingredients such as cheese powders, yogurt powders, cream and shortening powders. Jackson also blends cocoas, dairy bases, and savory dry mixes for the food industry. Join our team as a QA Technician on the 1st (5am-1pm) or 3rd shift (10pm-6am).

Key responsibilities

What you'll do

Do you thrive in a fast-paced team environment and work closely with production and other colleagues?

The Lab Technician makes quick decisions and uses sound judgement to make rational decisions pertaining to recommended adjustments, corrective actions and disposition of goods.

You'll be exposed to smell and a variety of flavor products, essential oils and raw materials.

Accuracy Is Important!

You'll be performing tests, analysis, and/or verification steps to assure that raw materials, batched product, and finished product exceeds established quality standards. The Lab Technician verifies conformity through measurement and assessment.

Strong attention to detail!

Follow procedures, policies, and instructions, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions is essential for this role.

The production lines are running non-stop in order to ship products to our customers and in order to ensure quality products are being released for delivery, working weekends or holidays may be required to get the job done.

Qualifications and skills

What you'll need

  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required. College Diploma or University Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or relevant science is desired
  • 1+ years of experience in food, pharmaceutical industry, or manufacturing environment is needed to understand the needs in quality
  • Do you have experience with GMP, HACCP, FSMA, FCC/USP/ASTA test methods, aseptic technique and food or pharmaceutical production?
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for majority of your shift and/or long periods of time
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft office such as excel and outlook
