Lead Estimator

We are a General Contracting Company specializing in a wide variety of commercial and industrial projects and high-end equestrian facilities throughout Minnesota, North & South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin.We are seeking an individual to fill this full time position and become part of our General Contracting team. This position will work closely with our Project Managers during the bidding/estimating process. Responsibilities Include:Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required content of bids and estimatesAssist in the preparation of construction drawings and permit drawings design-build projectPrepare construction budgets and specs from plans, identifying and projecting costs for all aspects of constructionObtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying quality subcontractorsPrepare quantity take-offs for both installed and material projectsPrepare vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitations and coordinationMonitor client addendums and revise take offs, estimates and drawings, as neededPrepare public and private bids for submittalTrack historical cost data as it relates to future estimatingExperience & Requirements:ust be thorough and have close attention to detail; extremely organized and able to prioritize and multitask.Strong written and verbal communication skillsConstruction estimating experience preferredAn Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in a construction related field is preferred.Minimum of 2-3 years of work-related experience.Working knowledge of construction with prior estimating/ price quote proposal experience.Experience with AutoCAD and reading blueprints is required.Excellent project management skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Excellent attention to detail is critical.The ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent customer service skills including responsiveness and follow up to customer inquiries.The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.The ability to multi-task.The ability to manage and prioritize workload.Excellent computer skills.A working knowledge of EPICOR and knowledge of IMPROV is plus We offer a generous benefit package and competitive pay based on experience, complete with health and dental insurance, bonus opportunities, paid vacation, paid holiday, simple IRA with matching contribution up to 3%, AFLAC, and life insurance.Competitive Compensation based on experience.
